In this blog, we give you a quick guide to reading Tarot during the coronavirus isolation period, which will give you hope that good things, and new things, are on the horizon.
Oh lovely reader - it fills our hearts with joy knowing you want to learn about reading Tarot cards during the Coronavirus - it’s such a good use of time, and a gift that you can develop and use in your own time. Helping you access your intuition, reading Tarot can help you live your life with confidence, and instill that in others through the Tarot readings you give them. In this blog, we give you a quick guide to reading Tarot during the coronavirus isolation period, which will give you hope that good things, and new things, are on the horizon.
But first, what exactly is the Tarot?
The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards which include 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 Minor Arcana cards. The Major Arcana cards represent life’s karmic energy and the spiritual lessons we learn that help us to reflect and grow. The Minor Arcana cards reflect life’s daily trials and tribulations and how to navigate them with ease.
The meaning of the cards differ per card, and each can teach us the life path we are currently on, and where it may be heading.
The Major Arcana Cards Include:
- The Fool
- The Magician
- The High Priestess
- The Empress
- The Emperor
- The Hierophant
- The Lovers
- The Chariot
- Justice
- The Hermit
- Wheel of Fortune
- Strength
- The Hanged Man
- Death
- Temperance
- The Devil
- The Tower
- The Star
- The Moon
- The Sun
- Judgement
- The World
The Minor Arcana cards on the other hand, comprise 4 suits of 14 cards each: the suit of Pentacles, the suit of Cups, the suit of Wands, and the suit of Swords. Each suit is numbered 1 to 10, and also includes a Page, Knight, Queen and King.
How To Read Tarot Cards During Coronavirus
- Clear your mind of all stresses and concerns of the day, and try to get into a relaxed state of mind. Setting the mood with candles and soft music will help, as will doing meditation beforehand.
- Shuffle the cards while thinking about your question, or while listening to your friend or family member say theirs (they can do this over the phone while you’re all self-isolating during coronavirus).
Shuffling the deck will also clear the energies of previous users who have touched your cards (it may also be a good idea to use some hand sanitiser too). Giving the cards a light bath - where you visualise breathing in a beautiful white light and sending its power down to the cards - helps you connect better to the Tarot cards too. - Ask your question and imagine that your question is travelling from your mind, down your arms and into your Tarot cards. Then, place the Tarot desk in front of you, and using your left hand, cut the deck in half and place the top half on the left. Choose the card that is on top of the right pile and turn it over.
- Then it’s time to interpret the card. The cards have many meanings, and you should always take the following into account:
- Your first impression of the card and your instantaneous thoughts and feelings.
- Any internal physical feelings - such as tingling in your hands.
- The colours on the cards and what they mean to you.
- What’s happening in the card, and the characters and symbols within it.
For a general outline of the meanings of the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana Tarot cards, please see our extensive, ‘’History of Psychics’’ piece which delves into this.
- When it’s time to end the Tarot reading, don’t forget to thank the spirits for all of the insight and guidance they gave you through the cards.
