About Cresent Tarot

I've always been drawn to "the alternative", even as a young person. I loved to watch TV shows with witches and psychics and spent a lot of time reading horoscopes. I first stumbled upon tarot and reading after a friend was struggling. I learnt to read the cards to try and help, after I felt I had exhausted all other options. I was drawn to the idea of a tool that could help me understand others, as well as my own, inner workings more deeply. I picked up my first deck—The Rider-Waite-Smith—and felt an instant connection. The imagery spoke to me in ways I couldn’t quite explain, but I knew I had found something special. Once I started, I knew it was a pathway that I would love and bring me comfort. At first, my readings were simple, just me pulling a single card in the morning to set my intentions for the day. As I grew more familiar with the cards, I began to understand the layers of symbolism and how they mirrored the challenges, emotions, and opportunities I was facing in my life. Slowly, the practice became more intuitive. I started pulling spreads and journaling my insights, and it felt like the cards were offering me both answers and questions that were helping me grow. Now, reading tarot is both a personal practice and a way I connect with others. It’s incredible to see how the cards can offer guidance, clarity, and even comfort during uncertain times. I love helping others unlock their own wisdom through readings, and I’m always amazed at how the tarot seems to show up exactly when it’s needed most. I feel that tarot is a tool that can help others, help themselves.

What do you like most about giving readings to clients?

I love to use my questions and the results of the cards as a "sounding board" to my clients. I like that they can see clarity when an answer is given to them. Whether it is confirmation of what they knew all along, or a realisation that there is a new path that they just couldn't see at the time. Tarot offers such a unique space for people to reflect on their lives, and it's amazing to witness how the cards can shine a light on what might be hidden beneath the surface I also love how no two readings are ever the same—the energy of each person, their questions, and the cards all create something unique. There is also something so special about being part of someone's journey, whether it's guiding them through a tough decision, offering encouragement during a challenging time, or simply helping them reconnect with their own inner wisdom and intuition.

How would you say you are typical of your star sign?

I’d say I’m a pretty typical Leo in a lot of ways; the good, the bad and the ugly! I’m definitely passionate and full of energy, and I love being in a position where I can inspire others or make them feel seen and heard. Leos tend to be creative and confident, and I can definitely relate to that. I'm always passionate about my creative passions and love the flow of arts, music and crafts. I also really value loyalty and meaningful connections, so once I’m invested in something or someone, I go all in. I love celebrating the good things in life and being surrounded by people who appreciate that spark of positivity.

When do you remember being first aware of your gift?

As a young person I remember always having a strong "gut instinct". Whether that was predictions of events, being able to see a pathway that someone would choose or being very in tune with the emotions of others. It very rarely was wrong. I feel with Tarot it has honed that gift further. As an adult, first starting to read the cards, I was going through a particularly challenging time in my life. I was feeling lost and uncertain, and I turned to tarot as a way to gain some clarity. At first, I wasn’t sure if the cards were “doing” anything specific, but I began noticing that the messages I received felt incredibly aligned with what I was going through at the time. I saw the signs they were giving me, so much more clearly and new that this was the path for me.

What is your most memorable experience with a client?

One of my most memorable experiences was reading for a client who didn’t really believe in Tarot. She was a total stranger to me. She came to me because it had been suggested by a friend, and honestly, I could sense she was just humouring the friend and wasn’t going to take it 100% seriously. She was going through a tough time in her career and was looking for some guidance, but she wasn’t sure if Tarot could really offer any practical solutions. I began the reading, and right away, the cards started painting a clear picture. There were strong signs of her being at a crossroads, feeling stuck in her current job, and longing for something more fulfilling but unsure of how to make that leap. What was amazing to me (and to her) was how accurate the cards were. I picked up on details about her current work environment, her frustrations, and even some of her hidden fears about stepping into a new role. What struck me the most was how her whole demeanour changed during the reading. The scepticism began to fade as the cards highlighted things she hadn’t even shared with me. By the end of the session, she was visibly more open, and I could tell she felt empowered with a sense of direction she didn’t have before. That reading really stuck with me because it was a reminder of how tarot can be such a powerful tool for clarity and insight—especially for someone who wasn’t initially open to it. It was such an honour to witness her shift from doubt to confidence, and it reinforced for me why I love doing what I do.

What other experiences or qualifications do you have that you feel compliment your work as a reader?

Along with reading Tarot, my experience as a mentor and teacher has definitely shaped the way I approach readings and client interactions. I’ve always been passionate about helping others unlock their potential, whether that’s through teaching, tutoring, or offering guidance in a more spiritual sense. This background has helped me develop a strong sense of empathy and patience, both of which are crucial when working with people on their personal journeys. In my work as a mentor, I've learned how to actively listen and ask the right questions—skills that really complement tarot reading. Tarot is all about reflection and insight, but sometimes it’s not just about what the cards say, but how we interpret them and apply those messages to our lives. My ability to communicate clearly and create a safe, non-judgmental space allows clients to feel comfortable, which is essential for them to open up and really benefit from the reading. Teaching has given me the tools to break down complex concepts in a way that’s accessible and relatable. I’ve developed a clear, step-by-step approach that helps people understand and engage with the process.

What is the most important thing for a person to consider when they decide to have a psychic reading?

Approach it with an open mind! Tarot and other psychic tools are about guidance, not fixed predictions. The cards or messages you receive are a reflection of the energy and circumstances at the time of the reading, and they can offer insights, clarity, and new perspectives. However, it’s important to remember that the future isn’t set in stone. Everything is constantly shifting based on choices, actions, and free will. Another key factor is knowing what you want to gain from the reading but also being open to what you might need to hear, rather than just what you expect to hear. A lot of times, people come into a reading with a specific question in mind, which is great, but it’s important to approach that question with flexibility. If you're looking for answers about your career, for example, consider whether you're open to receiving guidance about related areas, like personal growth or new opportunities that may not have been on your radar. When phrasing your questions, try to keep them open-ended rather than too specific. Instead of asking something like, "Will I get this job?" try asking, "What do I need to know about my career path right now?" or "What guidance can the cards offer me about moving forward in my professional life?" This way, you invite the reading to offer a broader view and allow the cards to provide you with the most relevant and helpful insights. The combination of an open mind, a clear sense of your intentions, and the willingness to receive whatever guidance comes through, is the best way to get the most out of a psychic reading. It’s not just about the answers—it’s about the journey of self-discovery that unfolds.
