Keeping ourselves young in spirit
The wonders of eternal youth
Many light workers and spiritualist leaders believe that before we were born a plan was created for us. Not just any plan, but a divine plan and an outline for our life purpose which guides us and helps us to explore life issues that were perhaps unresolved in the previous incarnation. For example, your higher purpose may be to embody different types of love and feelings that make you think and analyse. The feelings that you experience may be so powerful that you are drawn to express them through public speaking or through art or even through experiences with people.
Many of us search for purpose and meaning but become tangled during the process because we are trying too hard to find the right path. But rather than trying to find the right track or worrying about “which track” or job title we should follow we should perhaps instead ask how we feel about ourselves before we can even begin to initiate any movement.
Staying in touch with our youth and kindred spirit will undoubtedly push us on to the right path as we intend on doing it without force but with ease. If we think of the world as our school and our guides as our teachers we can remain youthful for as long as we wish. All of us have guides that we call out to when we our lost and even if we do not notice the direction straight away, we come to notice how we have slot perfectly into place after a few weeks, a month or even a year.
There are many ways in which we can stay in touch with our youth, making the life journey more pleasant and carefree. Sometimes in order to achieve your ultimate goal and life purpose we need to become childlike so that information can sink in and filter out into the right places. We may be over concerned with the titles we keep in life or the people that we come up against who we feel are judging us in some way but you only need to be who you are to experience the embodiment of your life purpose and before you know it you have become a true living purpose and opportunity after opportunity presents itself to you, just by being relaxed, youthful and carefree.
Think young
Our thoughts are ageless! But so many of us go by the notion that once we hit a certain age we must consider wearing different clothes, buying a different pair of slippers, associating with different people or hanging out at different places. But in truth, we never really lose the age we want to be if we keep it in our minds. There is no reason as to why we can’t stay a certain age. Many people look younger than what they are because they still believe they are that young in their mindset! Staying young and youthful also starts with what words we choose to use. Leaving words out like “old” will help us. No one is ever truly old, it is our bodies that eventually wear not the youthfulness of mind, as [1]Eternal Youth stats in this beautiful affirmation:
“Youth is the divinity within man; youth is the life spiritual - the life beautiful. It is only life that lives and loves - the one life eternal. Age is unspiritual, mortal, ugly, unreal. Fear thoughts, pain thoughts, and grief thoughts create the ugliness called old age. Joyous thoughts, love thoughts, and ideal thoughts create the beauty called youth. Age is but a shell within which lies the gem of reality - the jewel of youth”.
Forgive and forget
When we are angry or volatile our natural reaction is to screw our faces up and lower our brows causing creases and wrinkles! Remember that in order to be young, you need to be free. Children for example rarely hold grudges and tend to bounce back quickly. Holding on to past hurts actually does age us! It wears us down as it is extra baggage that we don’t need. When we forgive someone we are actually taking our own power back as we are letting go and making the decision to move forwards in life. If we choose to hang on to something for too long it can create lines and wrinkles, frustrations and aggravations that we don’t need. So let go, embrace and be free from pettiness.
Smile
You may not feel like smiling but it is a fact that we look more attractive when we smile. When people see a smiling glow they automatically feel at ease. A smile can set many situations straight and can also be taken as a signal to others that you are “OK” and not unapproachable. Smiling is said to also make us look young and youthful. This is because the muscles we use to smile lift the face, making a person appear younger so keep smiling! .
Youthful affirmations
The following is a useful affirmation taken from [2] eternal youth that we can all take part in daily to keep our minds young, active and friendly!
"I now realize that there is within me a spiritual joy - body ever young, ever beautiful. I have beautiful, spiritual mind, eyes, nose, mouth, skin - the body of the Divine Infant, which now, tonight, is perfect."
Repeat this affirmation and meditate upon it quietly while falling asleep. Upon rising in the morning suggest to yourself aloud,
Learn to thrill yourself. Affirm:
"Infinite Love fills my mind and thrills my body with its perfect life."
Make everything bright and beautiful about you. Cultivate a spirit of humour. Enjoy the sunshine.
